  • Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in Archival Studies or Library and Information Science from an accredited program.
  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience managing and working with the acquisition, processing, and management of archival materials, both physical and digital.
  • Experience in developing and managing teams, projects, major initiatives, as well as building relationships with donors and donor prospects should be highlighted in the application.
  • Applicants must possess a strong service orientation, excellent communication skills.
  • An appreciation and awareness of contemporary archiving environments, including decolonization and accessibility requirements.
  • An interest in implementing new initiatives and in evaluating current practice and workflows, a commitment to open access, strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • A demonstrated commitment to cooperative action and collaborative work, and commitment to supporting the goals of the Libraries and its stakeholders with respect to disseminating and providing access to research outputs and stewarded resources.

  • The University Archivist position holds primary responsibility for ensuring a responsive, sustainable, comprehensive archival program is in place, liaising and working closely with the University Records Office on the lifecycle of records and the implementation of record and information management practice on campus.
  • As a member of the Libraries’ greater team, you will collaborate to identify, develop, and implement standards and best practices for the selection, management, and stewardship of born-digital and digitized archival collections, as well a variety of physical formats and material types.
  • As University Archivist, you will proactively identify human and other resourcing needs, and consider potential funding opportunities which may include grants and donor cultivation activities, in alignment with university priorities.
  • The position actively promotes the research and teaching value of archival fonds and services to the University community, government, and to the greater public. The incumbent is expected to participate in local, regional and national initiatives related to archives and libraries in order to support the evolution of our services and to contribute to the Libraries’ larger goals of sensibly sharing, disseminating, and preserving the scholarly and cultural record.
  • The University Archivist is expected to directly supervise and/or provide guidance to other archivists, support staff, contractors, or other staff involved with archival work.
  • The position regularly interacts with staff from across the system to develop strategies, coordinate resources, and undertake the work involved in operating the Archives.
  • The position reports directly to an Associate University Librarian and is expected to work closely with colleagues in areas such as Special Collections, Digital Initiatives, IT, Collection Strategies, and Advancement.
  • The incumbent may participate in and seek opportunities for professional and scholarly research, including the ability to apply for and hold research funding as a principal applicant.

Jornada: Completa.
Sueldo : $70,667 to $117,771 . Anual
